When shipping your sample back, no postage or stamps are required. The box you received is a prepaid international mailing box. Simply enclose your sample according to the instructions and drop it in your local post box. There is no need to take it to postal counter or pay additional monies to return your sample.

Shipping to another country
AncestryDNA® kits purchased in Australia or New Zealand can be shipped only to an address in Australia or New Zealand. Orders placed in Australia or New Zealand must have an Australia or New Zealand billing address.
Shipping in hot or cold weather
Shipping the DNA kit back in extremely hot or cold temperatures should be fine, but if your test fails at the laboratory for any reason, we will provide a free replacement kit.
Standard shipping
Shipping costs $29.99 for the first kit and $10 for each additional kit in the same order. This amount covers both shipping to the recipient and return shipping, as well as other shipping related to the provision of the DNA testing service; no additional postage is necessary.
DNA kits should be delivered within 14 business days of the date of order. They’re sent via Australia Post. If a kit isn’t received within 25 business days, please contact us for a free replacement kit.
Expedited shipping (Australia only)
Expedited shipping costs $39.99 for the first kit and $19.99 for each additional kit in the same order. This amount covers both shipping to the recipient and return shipping, as well as other shipping related to the provision of the DNA testing service; no additional postage is necessary. DNA kits should be delivered within 4 business days of the date of order. If the kit isn’t received within five business days, please contact us for a free replacement kit.
New Zealand shipping
DNA kits should be delivered within 10 business days of the date of order. They're sent via DHL and delivered by NZ Post. Shipping costs $29.99 for the first kit and $10 for each additional kit in the same order. This amount covers both shipping to the recipient and return shipping, as well as other shipping related to the provision of the DNA testing service; no additional postage is necessary. If a kit isn't received within 25 business days, please contact us for a free replacement kit.
Shipping the sample back
Samples should be returned in the small bag included in the DNA kit. The return mailer can be dropped directly into the mail, even in extreme temperatures. The postage and address will be on the box; return shipping is covered in the original shipping cost, so no additional postage is necessary. In Australia, multiple kits that are purchased together can be placed together in the large bag provided for return shipping.
When we receive the sample, we'll send an email notification that it was received. If you're the owner of the account on which the DNA kit was registered and you don't receive a notification email within 40 working days days of the date you returned a sample to us, the kit was likely lost in the mail; in that case, please contact us for a free replacement kit.
Troubleshooting
